Electric Porsche 911 Faster 0-60 than Regular 911

A Florida based company is specialising in converting Porsches to electric power with very little loss in performance, any varying ranges depending on the weight of batteries you are willing to put up with. The company also specializes in making their electric Porsche’s resemble other cars, such as Lamborghini’s and even iconic Porsche racing cars, such as the 962 with over 2,600lb-ft (3,500Nm) of torque.

The company is EvPorsche, and it hopes to compete against companies like Tesla that are already producing their own electric sports cars, as well as Lotus, which is developing one.

Thanks to the high amounts of torque in electric vehicles acceleration performance remains close to, or in some cases surpasses the original internal combustion Porsche models.

The electric Porsche 911 from EvPorsche can complete the 0-60mph sprint in under 5 seconds, but top speed is be limited to around 125mph. With around 1,200lb-ft (1,625Nm) of torque helping the car off the line, the performance is incredible and is accompanied by zero-emissions and extremely low running costs.

There are some very interesting body options, including the iconic 959, the Carrera GT and the GT1. The company can also carry out electric car conversions on other makes, including Rolls-Royce, BMW and Jaguar models. Pricing for an electric Porsche 911 starts at around $48,000, however more exotic models such as Lamborghini Murcielago replicas and the 962e are a bit more expensive at $112,000 and $124,000 respectively.
