VW Bluesport Roadster Gets 57 MPG

The VW Concept BlueSport roadster is powered by a 180 PS Clean Diesel TDI engine that uses a NOx storage catalytic converter to reduce CO2 emissions.
Using a 6-speed DSG dual clutch transmission, the Concept BlueSport will reportedly get 54.7 mpg (US); if you use the Eco mode button you will reportedly get 57.36 mpg in city driving. Video after the jump.
While most concept cars numbers are usually inflated, the Bluesport numbers are unimpressive enough to be belivable. Zero to 60 in 6.2 seconds, 35 MPG in the European cycle and a 140 MPH top speed all sound decidedly realistic.

What really impresses us about this new roadster is the balanced looks which will hopefully be matched by some decent handling.
