Peugeot Introduces the 3008 Crossover; which will be their test platform for HYbrid4 Technology in 2011.
The 3008 Crossover will be the platform for the first production car with the HYmotion4 all-wheel drive technology, as unveiled on the Prologue HYbrid4 concept car at the Paris Motor Show in 2008.
The Prologue HYbrid4 concept and the production 3008 are front-engined. The HYmotion4 technology uses a “through-the-road” design to provide hybrid all-wheel drive. The motor is mounted in either the rear or front of the vehicle, which then dictates if vehicle is front- or rear-engined. Read more
VW Bluesport Roadster Gets 57 MPG

The VW Concept BlueSport roadster is powered by a 180 PS Clean Diesel TDI engine that uses a NOx storage catalytic converter to reduce CO2 emissions.
Using a 6-speed DSG dual clutch transmission, the Concept BlueSport will reportedly get 54.7 mpg (US); if you use the Eco mode button you will reportedly get 57.36 mpg in city driving. Video after the jump. Read more

VW’s Polo Bluemotion offers great fuel economy but it’s a little expensive. It might be worth trying the TDi version instead.
The rising cost of running a car, plus fears over CO2 emissions, means car makers are thinking harder than ever about the kind of vehicles they are building and so they are producing ever more efficient cars.
The changes to the Polo body are subtle. A faired-in grille, smaller mirrors and a rear window spoiler help lower the drag. Its special 14-inch alloy wheels are fitted with skinny, high-profile tyres which reduce rolling resistance. Read more
