Chevy Spark to be Unveiled at Geneva Next Month

It’s now only a month until the Geneva Motor Show and the unveiling of the 2010 Chevy Spark. The Spark is the production version of the Beat concept that debuted at the 2007 New York Auto Show.
The Spark has grown two extra doors but otherwise looks very much like the original Beat concept. The Spark is following the lead of other mini-cars by using a more upright stance and pushing the wheels out to the corners to maximize interior room. Inside, the design of the instrument panel appears to be a simplified evolution of the twin cockpit look that has been appearing on other contemporary Chevrolets, including the Malibu, Traverse and Equinox. Geneva Auto Show Preview: Mazda3 With i-Stop

The Geneva Motor Show next month will see the Mazda3 lineup will getting rounded off with the debut of the new MazdaSpeed3 and its 2.0L direct injected four cylinder with start-stop technology. The MazdaSpeed3 is the turbocharged high performance variant of the lineup.
The Mazda3 i-Stop features a 2.0L direct-injected and normally aspirated four-cylinder engine. The MZR 2.0 DISI is the first appliaction of i-Stop, or Mazda’s intelligent auto start/stop system. Instead of using a starter/generator to re-start the engine, the engine is stopped in a specific position with the valves closed in one cylinder. The fuel is sprayed directly into the combustion chamber and then ignited to get the piston moving and re-start the engine. Read more
Bentley to Bring Flex-Fuel Model to Geneva Show

During the Detroit Auto Show this week, Bentley board member Stuart McCullough declared that the company would debut its first flex fuel car at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
McCullough also confirmed that the entire Bentley lineup will be flex-fuel capable by 2012. At last year’s Geneva Motor Show, Bentley declared it would get its fleet to the equivalent of 120 g/km of well-to-wheel CO2 emissions by 2012. One of the keys to that will be the use of biofuels, primarily ethanol. Read more
