The new BlueMotion is the most efficient five passenger internal combustion car on the road. Volkswagen revealed the all-new Polo concept, expected to come to the US market in the next couple of years. This new B-segment car comes in three- and five-door hatchback flavors with a range of gas and diesel engines, but the leader of the pack is the BlueMotion model with 96 g/km of CO2 emissions. Brazil gets the VW BlueMotion Range

Volkswagen has decided to offer the BlueMotion badge in Brazil, although it has adapted it to the homegrown fuel from the South American continent, the Brazilian BlueMotion badge vehicles will be powered by ethanol. BlueMotion will be an option for the Fox (pictured above), Golf and Polo models. Not much information has been released yet, although the models are currently being shown at the São Paulo Motor Show. VW’s Polo Bluemotion offers great fuel economy but it’s a little expensive. It might be worth trying the TDi version instead.

The rising cost of running a car, plus fears over CO2 emissions, means car makers are thinking harder than ever about the kind of vehicles they are building and so they are producing ever more efficient cars.

The changes to the Polo body are subtle. A faired-in grille, smaller mirrors and a rear window spoiler help lower the drag. Its special 14-inch alloy wheels are fitted with skinny, high-profile tyres which reduce rolling resistance. Read more
